The board is also helping Government departments to improve the efficiency and
effectiveness of their
service deliveries. It is providing technical support to both
Central and State government departments in implementing ISO 9001 standards as
well as in undertaking process improvement projects through the Kaizen/Lean/5S
methodology. In order to ensure availability of a pool of competent consultants and
auditors who can be engaged for improving the performance of MSME sectors, the
board operates registration schemes in line with international norms. A recent
initiative of the board is launching of Professional Membership scheme which acts as
a platform for exchange of ideas, information and experience of quality professionals
across the country. Activities like National Quality Conclaves, World Quality Day
celebrations, seminars/workshops are conducted from time to time.
Many new initiatives are being taken by the board towards creation of mass awareness on quality management with the support of all stakeholders. This includes designing and implementing web based Learning Management System (LMS) through which various courses on quality i.e TQM, TPM, etc., will be made available on e-platform ensuring accessibility of good learning materials at affordable cost. The Board also accredits Training Courses/Program pertaining to Lead Auditor and Internal Auditor. In all it accredits 7 schemes such as ISO 9001 (QMS), 14001(EMS), 18001 ( OHSAS), 22000 (FSMS), 27000 (ISMS), 17025 (LMS), 15189 and is planning to take up more such schemes from Jan 2016. The Board is planning to establish programs for building capacity of quality professional in all sectors to support quality improvement. Collabortion with established Quality Promotion organisations may be considered for enhancing the outreach and penetrating the masses.
