About Us
“The National Board for Quality Promotion (NBQP) is a constituent Board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), entrusted with the mission of embedding Quality as a core value across sectors and society. Guided by the overarching vision of “Quality for National Wellbeing,” NBQP plays a catalytic role in advancing the adoption of Quality management systems, tools, and frameworks across high-impact sectors such as Education, Healthcare, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) – widely recognized as the pillars of India’s inclusive growth and development.
At its core, NBQP aims to foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhance productivity and competitiveness, and strengthen governance systems through the lens of Quality. Its interventions not only help institutions streamline internal processes but also cultivate a mindset of excellence and responsibility among citizens and service providers alike.
A distinctive element of NBQP’s approach is its emphasis on citizen empowerment. Through a series of targeted awareness programs, campaigns, and capacity-building initiatives, the board encourages individuals to become informed and quality-conscious consumers. This demand-driven strategy creates a ripple effect – where consumer expectations push producers, service providers, and institutions to elevate their standards – making Quality a shared national aspiration rather than a regulatory obligation.
To fulfil this mission, NBQP drives a wide array of outreach, engagement, and educational initiatives across the country. Flagship programs like Gunvatta Sankalp, Gunvatta Yatra, Gunvatta Manthan, and Gunvatta Samruddhi serve as dynamic platforms that bring together policymakers, industry experts, youth, and civil society to discuss and co-create pathways for Quality transformation. Youth-centric campaigns such as the Quality Summer Funcamp and Gunvatta Pakhwada are designed to instil Quality values early, ensuring that the next generation is equipped to uphold and demand high standards. Apart from these initiatives, NBQP also assists QCI’s Boards and Divisions in organising their flagship events, offering strategic and operational support to amplify the reach and impact of Quality across diverse domains.
NBQP also plays a strategic advisory role in collaborating with central ministries, state governments, and public sector undertakings (PSUs) for the implementation of ISO standards, performance excellence frameworks, and customized Quality interventions. From process improvement and capacity assessment to handholding, NBQP contributes significantly to enhancing institutional efficiency and service delivery mechanisms. Further, the board actively supports award mechanisms and recognition frameworks that honour exemplary efforts in Quality implementation. These awards motivate organizations to adopt best practices, benchmark globally, and create a culture of aspiration and excellence.
In essence, NBQP is not just a facilitator but a force multiplier for India’s Quality movement – building awareness, driving adoption, enabling innovation, and ultimately contributing to the nation’s journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
